The Original Tennis and Original Fitness have been staple silhouettes of FILA. The two styles have transcended decades and remain sought after by consumers. Very few brands have hero/classic silhouettes that date back as far as 1983, when the Original Tennis put FILA on the map. Back in May, FILA North America debuted an updated Original Tennis 2.0, the first time the shoe had been modified.
As for the Original Fitness its debut was mid-to-late 80’s. While the silhouette carries many of the features of the Original Tennis, it is this model that moved FILA to venture into the fitness and sport world outside of its dominant ground in Tennis.
This Friday the “Premium” pack drop will feature both silhouettes dressed in a Vegetable tan leather. The leather is top notch, having been dyed with natural materials to create the classic light color. The Original Fitness sits atop a gum outsole, which marries perfectly with the upper to create a super clean look. The only color variation evident is the brief white sidewall of the midsole. The Original Tennis has an off-white midsole to separate the gum outsole from its crisp upper. The eye row carries the same color tone of the midsole. Each shoe has been delined to create more of a shoe look and feel, rather than a sneaker. Both silhouettes carry a tan shoelace that ties everything together perfectly, figuratively and literally.
The Premium pack is released today, August 5th.
