June is a great month because it somewhat brings your mind into the summer, regardless of what the calendar tells you. With the unofficial start of summer around the corner, FILA offers up an “All-American” style pack worthy of a salute. The pack features the Cage with a new take on its iconic construction. Anchoring this pack is the Mindbender F, much in the same fashion of last months “Knit” Original Tennis release, the “All-American” has a trio of Mindbender F’s in three colorways.
The Cage silhouette known for its cage-like construction on the back counter features a much different look with a tie back to the terry cloth retro headband worn famously on the Tennis court. Replacing the back counter structure with a striped terry cloth band for a comfortable fit. The white leather upper sits atop a white rubber midsole and outsole. Branding on the tongue and counter features FILA Navy and FILA Red.
The Mindbender F first debuted back in late 2016 and showed the progression of one of the brand’s retro runners. The Mindbender F is a fusion of yesterday and today. While the retro product can sometimes carry a look and feel of yesterday, the Mindbender F fits today’s market in 2017. Is it a no-brainer? No, it’s a Mindbender! This silhouette is a head turner regardless of the trio of Mindbender F’s carrying a complete tonal upper of red, white, and blue. The pair features a no-sew upper designed and constructed with air-mesh. The construction is identical to that of the runner from the mid-90’s, with the no-sew upper being a first in this category. The pair sits atop a speckled-rubber midsole and clear rubber outsole. The logo placement remains on the back counter, and tongue. The angled midsole/upper linear logo features the same color of each upper. This go around FILA opted for a gum outsole.
Both sneakers will be available as of June 2nd. The Cage will retail for $90 and the Mindbender F will retail for $85.
