FILA and the BNP Paribas Open have collaborated on a limited-edition sneaker style, debuting at this year’s tournament in Indian Wells.
This year, the tournament officials will pair their custom FILA uniforms with this specially designed FILA x BNP Paribas Open shoe. The new footwear reflects FILA’s rich heritage in the sport, while embracing current trends in sneaker culture.
The FILA x BNP Paribas Open collaboration includes the Original Tennis 2.0, featuring premium materials and designed in a FILA navy/white/atomic blue color palette. While elements of the iconic Original Tennis silhouette are recognizable, this version incorporates sleek, new touches. The shoe was created in knit, and this marks the first rendition of the Original Tennis 2.0 in that fabric. Components such as the flag design on the side of the shoe remain consistent, yet the knit material adds a modern aesthetic.
Additional details include FILA branding on the tongue, quarter and back counter, as well as tonal laces. The bold, atomic blue hue is featured on the shoe’s outsole, in the poles, on the back counter, and on the tongue. The footwear boasts a nylon sock lining, with extra padding for a comfortable fit. The footbed was designed in a vibrant FILA red hue and is decorated with a sublimated print of the BNP Paribas Open logo. To further fuse both sides, a custom box will also feature the FILA and BNP Paribas Open logos.
The FILA x BNP Paribas Open shoe will retail for $80 and will be available exclusively at the FILA retail shop on-site in Indian Wells.
