With baseball season here theres no better way to celebrate another great season than with the release of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1. Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature silhouette is making a comeback since it retro’d back in 2009.
One of the best Griffey releases of all time is returning to retailers at the end of the month for the third time since its debut in ’96. The shoe will be made available at select Nike retailers around the country, and on Nike.com. The official release date is April 21, so mark it on your calendars because these are a must cop.
The 2016 version of this signature silhouette will feature the exact same details and color scheme as the OG. The black and emerald colorway is a nod to the Seattle Mariners uniforms, while the white hits add a bit of contrast.
Griffey was a powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with in the MLB. No one has been charismatic enough, or had the same market appeal to get a signature shoe from Nike since. The last retro did so well, it only makes sense to have high hopes for this release as well.
